In an attempt to look toward the future of baby boomers and the healthcare industry, Karen Ignagni, president and CEO of America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) testified before the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health about the importance of improving access to long-term care insurance and providing long-term care products to members of Medicare and Medicaid regardless of income level. She suggested tax-deductions on LTC expenses, removing Medicaid barriers, creating a Presidential Commission and a federal office to keep an eye on long-term care needs and manage a dedicate long-term care workforce.
