Even though his home insurance policy states that he is allowed an appraisal of his claims, Mississippi homeowner Henry Kuehn was told that mediation was his only option. Kuehn hoped to receive around $14,000 from damages caused by wind to his home is southern Mississippi. During mediation, unlike appraisal, the home owner must pay for any experts that speak on his behalf, however, according to a phone call to State Farm that Mr. Kuehn recorded, the home insurance company will be picking up all mediation costs for all of their MS clients.
