RTTNews - UK's mortgage approvals for house purchases decreased 64% in August from the previous year to 21,086 units from July's 22,239, the British Bankers' Association announced Tuesday. Meanwhile, remortgaging slid nearly 28% annually to reach 47,765, the lowest since early 2001.
