Man charged with trying to steal same car twice in Hampton HAMPTON That must be one heck of a car. Hampton police have charged a 35-year-old man with trying to steal the same car he is charged with stealing once before. Monday morning employees at a car dealership in the 4100 block of W. Mercury Boulevard called police to report a man trying to steal a 2008 Honda Accord. Officers arrested the man after he ran from the lot, police said.
Hampton man killed in Newport News shooting NEWPORT NEWS A 21-year-old Hampton man was killed in a shooting last night in Newport News, police said. Gunshots were reported at 9:04 p.m. in the 400 block of King Arthur Court, said Officer Harold Eley, a police spokesman.
